Whatsapp users have begun to receive push notifications asking them to accept new term and conditions which means you surrender you contact numbers and messages to be passed for Facebook for the purpose of advertisement. However, in order to do this, WhatsApp will share your phone number with Facebook’s system.

Anyway, whatsapp have also created an opt-out method for those that are not interested.

The first method is:  Do not agree to WhatsApp’s updated terms of service!!  WhatsApp will notify you of the change to its terms of service. If you are on this screen, follow these steps:

Uncheck Share my WhatsApp account information with Facebook

The second method is: for those who have already tapped agreed is:

For iPhone users

Go to Settings > Account.

Uncheck Share my account info.

For Android users

Tap the three dots icon on the top-right.

Tap Settings > Account.

Uncheck Share my account info.

Note: You have 30-days to opt out
