Computer Village might soon be no more as the Lagos State Government in a series of tweets today confirmed its readiness to relocate the Village to the new ICT Park at Kantangowa in Agbado.  This is not coming as a surprise because the Government of Lagos State has never hidden the fact that with will relocate the busy Computer Village soon — the first was in 2013.

The reasons for relocation was also stated as; to control environmental degradation, housing stock deficit and traffic congestion in the Ikeja axis.

Katangowa is bigger than Computer Village, as the market covers about 26 hectares of land but it does have a disorganized setting with most of the traders dealing in second-hand clothes.

The new park will be located at the extreme side of town, and this is a major factor for lots of marketers who travel down to Lagos for purchase and repairs.
